This post of mine is all about church decorations as well as making sure that you understand what type of flowers go with the church décor as well as how to save money while doing church decorations.

Also wedding decorations in the church can be of many styles and types and I will touch on those just for the purpose of clarity and hopefully make you understand what the church weddings is all about.

Here are the main elements of a church which will need to be decorated apart from the fact that there is the bridal bouquet as well as the bridesmaid bouquet and the various corsages and the boutonnieres

Pillars

A few things about the church floral arrangements that you will need to keep in mind are

Church folks generally do not allow outside floral designers to come in and do any decorations. So you may want to consult someone and then guide the floral helper of the church.

In the heavy wedding season rush there will be more than one wedding planned and that will mean that the floral decorations may have to be shared by two couples which in turn will mean that you just cannot have the decorations all by yourself so make sure that the flower arrangements are based on the mutual acceptability of both the couples.

Church Weddings are formal and traditional

Church Weddings are formal and that will mean that you can easily select the color white for all sorts of decorations and you will never go wrong including the white wedding flowers

White wedding flowers with a lot of green is the most traditional and the best flower arrangements for church.

Red rose and white rose along with greens is also very much traditional and that is the whole point that weddings in church cannot be very much outrageous.

You can experiment to a certain extent and that will mean things like the blue and white wedding flowers as opposed to traditional white and green flower arrangements for a church.

Always Check with Chapel

A lot of churches as in house packages available for use and these simply the packages which are ready made and there will be packages that are not ready made so you will have to call in a few days in advance and ask for those special custom made floral arrangements for the church wedding.

Altar Flower arrangements are large enough and on each side so that they can be easily seen.

Pews generally are decorated with simple ribbon and nice smaller flowers. Apart from these you will need the pew pomanders and the pew foam.

Candelabra flowers – In the traditional church setting you will need flowers for all sorts of things including the candelabras.

Always consult the Minister for church flower decorations

This is a must otherwise you may be in a for a rude shock later as you near the wedding day because there are do’s and don’ts for each church as far as wedding decorations are concerned.

Placement of Flowers within the Church

Most of the churches will allow flowers in the chancel and that will mean the place between the communion rail and the altar.

Pews are generally fine with all the churches

Altars flower arrangements are also Ok as far as flowers are concerned on both sides.

The Narthex or the end of the sanctuary is generally allowed but you may need to check with the minister.

For the Altar generally there are large floral arrangements.

For the candelabras use the floral arrangements but those on the floor just use the greenery as opposed to the flowers
